I recently got to attend the pre-opening of the new Purezza in Hove the weekend before it opened. I always love going to the openings and getting a sneak peak of the inside, which is always beautiful.
Brighton & Hove has always been home to Purezza since it first opened on St James Street in 2015. They decided to open this second branch so that more people could enjoy their food including those who have it delivered so they can enjoy their favourite food at home. Their delivery radius will now reach West Hove and Portslade.
They’ve taken on the old Patisserie Valerie branch at 86-87 Western Road. That’s just a few minutes from the beautiful Hove seafront, Palmeira Square, and Brunswick Square.

The new location has much more space than the original space they opened in Brighton and has a second story to seat more people. This is something they did in Camden and which worked very well. They are now set to open their 4th location in Bristol tomorrow.
“2020 was always going to be a big year for Purezza, and whilst the Coronavirus crisis was an unforeseen challenge, it won’t affect our plans. Purezza is a growing brand, but our home has always been Brighton & Hove.” [Source]
“As Purezza accelerates plans for a nationwide expansion, we also wanted to provide a sister restaurant in our hometown – a beautiful new space that allows us to serve more award-winning pizzas to people across the city every single day.” [Source]
Tim Barclay, Co Founder

The restaurant is beautiful and decorated very much in Purezza’s signature new style. It’s fitted out with reclaimed and upcycled furniture, and decoration has been completed with eco-friendly and organic plants.
The food & atmosphere were great as always. I decided to go for their potato pizza, fondly known to most of us as ‘couch potato’. I haven’t had this classic in a while and felt like something comforting and familiar.
They didn’t have their incredible strawberry cheesecake that I love but had an alternative flavour of lemon that I tried. It definitely didn’t have the wow factor of the strawberry one imo but nice all the same. Check out their full menu here.
I’ve now been to all their locations including the London one that isn’t technically open anymore because they moved next door after a while. With the new Bristol location opening, I hope to visit that one in the near future as well.
Please go down down and show them your support while having the best vegan pizza of your life.
