💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month so I’m going to be doing some posts relating to that. As a sufferer and advocate I feel this is important to say.

😢 Depression is a tricky beast and sometimes it is all consuming. Today has been difficult for me to even stay awake, not because I was tired but because just being awake or doing anything was hard. I slept all day then made myself a g&t (alcohol free of course) and put on killing eve. 💻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I always give myself the time and space to work through whatever feelings I’m feeling and do whatever it takes to get through the day. If that’s just sleeping then that’s ok. 😴
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being alive is hard for people like me and that’s the bottom line. So you do whatever you can to get through each day. 💪🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We need to be more accepting of that and not guilt trip ourselves or anyone else for that matter. Tomorrow is a new day and you don’t know how you’ll feel from one moment to the next. You can always start again tomorrow. ⛅️

I personally don’t need to be around people but for some the solitude isn’t good and only feeds into their depression. Talk to people in your life, regularly see people you care about. And if you don’t have anyone to talk to there are tons of support services so you aren’t alone. 💗

My favourite part had to be the luxurious chocolate truffles that just melt in your mouth. They don't have the bitter dark chocolate taste that can be really boring after a while. I ate them in one sitting, they were so moreish hehe. 😋🍫

✨ Self love & self care to me isn’t all about loving the skin you’re in and doing face masks. For me it’s taking care of yourself as a whole. Seeing your worth, staying hydrated, taking breaks, cutting out toxic people and so on.

I don’t love the skin I’m in and my relationship with my appearance has long & a complicated history - but I’m working on it. 💪🏻

*I really hated this picture of me at first but it’s grown on me. I was at my favourite restaurant with my good friend having a lovely time chatting and eating food. It reflects my happiness and shows a smile that I don’t bear often these days. It’s about the memory and how I felt not how I look. Those roots 🤣🤣

✨One of the biggest vegan launches of the year s

✨One of the biggest vegan launches of the year sees @burgerkinguk add 2 new vegan burgers to its menu today: The Vegan Royale & The Rebel Whopper. I just had to try them both and let you know what I thought. 🍔🍟

All the ingredients in each burger are 100% vegan but the whopper has cross contamination because of how it is cooked. Whereas the Royale is cooked totally separate and has earned the vegan trademark. *If cross contamination doesn’t bother you and you’ll eat any food as long as it’s vegan you can enjoy both burgers.

Now it might be controversial to some that I tried the whopper (because of cross contamination) but I know that some vegans and non vegans would like to try the new rebel whopper and I wanted to see what it was like. It’s not like I ate a beef burger.. No animals were harmed. 🐮💗

💬 My thoughts:

The Royale. Really authentic chicken texture, tasty, nice coating & good portion size. Exactly how I remember a chicken royale tasting.

The Rebel Whopper: Nowhere near as meaty as beyond burgers but good none the less. I didn’t get quite as much of that flame grilled taste thats indicative of Burger King, I would’ve liked more but it was very nice. Great portion, filled me up and all the flavours and toppings worked well. The patty does look like a disc but was tasty.

Would eat both again. 9/10 🍔🍟

✨ The Vegan Royale is available to buy alone or as a meal with fries and a drink for £6.79. You can also get both burgers for just £1.99 each every Meat Free Monday through the BK app. 💸

However you feel about the cross contamination it’s good to have the option. Some vegans won’t even support chains like Burger King anyway, which is fine but to me this is progress and I will always support increasing the demand for vegan food. 🌱

These new additions come as the fast-food chain embarks on a green future by serving up less beef as part of a strategy to curb its carbon footprint. Burger King announced its plan to make 50% of its menu plant-based by 2031. 🌏

Burger King UK has already given its popular Veggie Bean Burger a makeover to make it suitable for vegans, and CEO Alasdair Murdoch has teased that meat-free nuggets are ‘in the pipeline’.

... OR LAZY! I’ve been taking a lot more time off social media recently (particularly Instagram) because honestly.. it stresses me out. 😓

Sometimes the pressure to be perfect, for everyone to love your content and it do well EVERY SINGLE TIME is crippling. 😖

We all place way too much pressure on ourselves, particularly creators. And it doesn’t help that it feels like unless you’re paying Instagram to show your posts that they just don’t get seen most of the time. 😞👎🏻

But I’ve found a way to just make peace with that and LET THAT SHIT GO. 😌☮️

Stress is such a horrible thing and it really affects me physically and makes me ill. It’s not good for anyone. 😥

So find space to take time away like once a week or limit your time on here. You’ll love how it makes you feel so free and you can just ignore all the bullshit and pressure for a little while. You won’t regret it. 💗
