This year for Veganuary Subway launched a vegan chicken sub or the TLC (Tasted Like Chicken) along with a Vegan Double Choc Cookie in UK stores on December 30 2020.
According to the brand, its T.L.C. Sub is ‘packed with all the delicious flavor of the original, made with a bespoke recipe designed to mimic roast chicken breast strips’.
The T.L.C is available as a six-inch or Footlong Sub, a salad, or a wrap. The Vegan Double Choc Cookie can be ordered as a single cookie or as part of a pack of three or 12 cookie sharing box.
It tastes just like roast chicken and has a great texture and flavour. This is my favourite vegan option from subway so far. The patty is pretty meh and nothing special in my opinion, the meatballs are great but I can see myself having this more. They’ve nailed it with this one!
I think everyone should try the new vegan subway its so good, especially when loaded up with all the salad and garlic aioli. I’ve had it in a wrap as well but I do love a footlong sub.
The chicken is really flavourful and realistic, I think it could fool non vegans.
“Our new plant-based T.L.C. Sub will delight both our vegan and non-vegan fans – we’ve created a product that tastes so much like our flavourful chicken breast strips, guests will be surprised it’s not the real thing.
With our new additions, we now have one of the biggest and tastiest plant-based menus on the high street, to offer you even more choice.”
Vegan options at subway
The two new products join Subway’s current vegan offerings, which include its award-winning Meatless Meatball Marinara, the Plant-Based Patty, Vegan Toasted Bites, vegan cheese slices, garlic aioli and Hash Browns.
