Disclaimer: This post features some gifted items but I wasn’t obliged to do a blog post, this in no way biases my opinion of the brand. I would NEVER recommend something I didn’t love and use myself. All thoughts and opinions are my own. *All images by planty.
I was sent some delicious meals to try by planty, who remind me of allplants but aren’t so well known. The company and their core values also align with my own so they were someone I definitely wanted to help and promote.
If you like me have to cook for yourself every night but are also really busy and often skip meals then planty are great and a real lifesaver. I love how the meals are not only delicious but they’re nutritious, packed full of veggies and come in recyclable packaging. *The box, trays, films, and sleeves are fully recyclable.
Who Are Planty?
Passionate about responsible & nutritious food, our Head & Development chef, Joe, makes sure we use the highest quality ingredients to produce restaurant quality dishes that taste like heaven.
Joe has worked at some top London restaurants, including the Michelin starred restaurant Petrus, but is now fully part of the Planty team.

How Does It Work?
- Build your box. Choose 6, 8, or 10 plant-based meals from their menu.
- Planty do the cooking, so you don‘t have to.
- Delivered to you by DPD. Pick a delivery date, sit back, and relax.
- Heat up & enjoy. Chuck in the oven or microwave and tuck in.
The price of the meals is cheaper depending on how many you buy so ordering 10 instead of 6 actually works out much better value for money. Delivery is always free whether you order 6, 8 or 10 meals.

Meals are fresh frozen to look in nutrients and just need to be heated up. I did this in the microwave which never took longer than 9 minutes but these vary slightly for each meal. All cooking instructions are on the back though.
At Planty, we believe in eating more plants – it’s good for you and it’s good for our planet. Our chefs prepare glorious 100% plant-based meals, which we then deliver to you. We take care of the cooking, so you can focus on getting stuff done.
In my box I got 10 meals:
- Mac No Cheese
- Yaki Miso Udon Noodles x2
- Shepherd-less Pie
- Red Thai Sweet Potato Curry
- Zesty Xinxim x2
- Harissa Carrot Tagine
- Wild Mushroom & Truffle Rigatoni x2
That’s most of the meals they do but you can check out their full menu here.

Mac No Cheese – Creamy indulgent ‘no cheese’ sauce tossed through little macaroni shells, with slow-cooked cherry tomatoes and broccoli.
This didn’t taste like any mac and cheese I had had before and my keen senses wondered if there were oats in there somewhere. This was nice and comforting and had a good subtle cheese taste but wasn’t mindblowing. I love the addition of tomato and broccoli which I like with my mac. 7/10

Yaki Miso Udon Noodles – Chunky udon noodles coated in a rich yaki-miso sauce, with bok choy, shimeji mushrooms, roasted tofu and aubergine, crunchy peanuts, and black sesame seeds.
I love noodles and Japanese food in general so knew I would enjoy this. It had a bit of spice which I didn’t expect so might not be to everyones taste. Really enjoyed this and actually had it for lunch once which is nice when you want something warm and comforting. 9/10
Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian or flexitarian, we wish to have you by our side and to join the movement of eating more plants!

Shepherd-less Pie – Hearty slow-braised lentil and soya mince, root vegetable mustard mash, topped with toasted pumpkin and fennel seeds.
I’m not keen on shepherds pie or cottage pie etc, (or I really wasn’t before I was vegan) and remember being made to eat this when I didn’t like it as a child. So it has a negative feeling to it for me. Meat shepherds pie is gross and it sucks but vegan ones are amazing!
Full of flavour and interesting ingredients and topped with cheese, seeds and other things. This one was really great and I enjoyed it a lot. My only complaint was that the portion was so bloody shallow, there just wasn’t enough of it. For the price you pay and the fact that it’s mostly veggies I felt a bit robbed if I’m honest.
Also, don’t be put off by the hundreds (ok hundreds is v dramatic but there were like 30) of fennel seeds on top it actually works and is really delicious. I thought it looked like way too much and not a sprinkling as I would’ve done with such a strong flavour but it was nice. 9/10

Red Thai Sweet Potato Curry – Fragrant red Thai curry, kaffir lime-infused rice with fine beans, roasted sweet potato and okra, and golden coconut flakes.
This meal was my absolute favourite and tasted incredible! If you like sweet things and sweetest coconut curries then I think you’ll really enjoy this. I thought the portion size was good and filling and it was just perfection.
All the flavours and veggies used complimented each other so well, I wish I had another one of these in my box because they were really great. Will definitely have to reorder and get some of these. I would love to try and create something similar too because it was tasty and so my kind of dish. 10/10

Zesty Xinxim – Braised red lentil stew cooked with a roasted peanut, citrus, and coconut sauce, plus roasted sweet peppers, crunchy mange tout, and toasted almonds.
I made some rice to go with this but would be nice with some kind flatbread or something too. Didn’t expect to love this one that much but it was nice. I loved the combination of creamy peanuts, coconut and citrus. 7/10

Harissa Carrot Tagine – Fruity North African spiced carrot tagine, giant turmeric couscous, black chickpeas, and pomegranate seeds.
I love fruity couscous and that sweet flavour again with savoury dishes so knew I would like this one. I really liked the addition of carrot and thought that was an interesting idea for a tagine. Lovely ingredients and all the flavours work really well, enjoyed this one. 8/10

Wild Mushroom & Truffle Rigatoni – Creamy wild mushroom & truffle sauce tossed through rigatoni pasta, with green peas, cavolo nero, and leeks.
I’m a big mushroom and pasta fan so knew I would love this one straight away. Pasta dishes are easy enough to throw together but you can easily end up with another boring tomato sauce so this is a fab alternative.
Anything mushroom is always a bit hit for me and truffle works well with them so it’s a double amount of yum. This smells amazing and you can’t wait to tuck in as soon as it’s heated up. This was probably my second favourite. Would’ve liked more rigatoni as there’s quite a bit of sauce and pasta is cheap but other than that no complaints. Fab dish! 9/10
All in all, I think Planty are a great company and their meals are delicious.
