I love music and always have. My tastes are eclectic, to say the least, so I feel like this makes me a pretty good reviewer of any music genre. I absolutely love Spotify and wouldn’t be without my premium subscription for uninterrupted listening and discovering new stuff. I also love iTunes and the way it’s catalogued.
Depression & Music
Music has helped me through many difficult periods in my life because it helps you know you’re not alone. Other people have been where you are and come out the other side, that’s a comforting and reassuring thought for many.
In my teens music really was everything and helped me through a lot of dark and confusing times with depression and anxiety.. and of course breakups. Seeing bands I loved with my friends was and still is one of my favourite things to do. I don’t do it nearly as much as I did 10 years ago just because life isn’t as simple as it was then and sadly things have just gotten in the way. But I listen to music every day for hours. My tastes haven’t changed much in 13 years which is interesting because I’ve changed and grown so much myself as a person.
There’s always a song that describes perfectly what mood you’re in or what you’re going through and that’s a big comfort to people, especially young vulnerable people.
MY Spotify Playlist
I created this playlist of songs that I love which demonstrates my liking of all things and I think it allows you to get to know me a bit better. I want to touch on this subject again in more depth and look at particular songs/albums/artists that have inspired me and helped me through difficult times.
But in the meantime… check out the playlist here
Hope you enjoyed checking that out.
