A lot of makeup brands claim to be cruelty-free because none of their products/ingredients are tested on animals, but their products may contain animal ingredients or animal by-products. Some common non vegan friendly ingredients are things like carmine (dried & crushed insects), beeswax and animal hair (used for makeup brushes).
I think it’s great that more brands are making changes to have more vegan products or even better, taking steps to become fully vegan.
Who said it’s impossible or too expensive to shop cruelty-free and vegan beauty. I created this guide containing tons of brands to show you that it’s super easy to find great quality cruelty-free makeup for every budget.
Here I share the best and some of the most ethical:

I’ve included links to vegan product lists or direct links to their vegan sections for most but some just don’t make it easy. I have searched the internet far and wide and have included as much info as I could for you though.
*I’ll be updating this list regularly with the best cruelty-free brands. If you would like your brand to feature here or send me some to review then get in touch.
