I was recently sent some delicious vegan brownie bites by Bad Brownie to sample and review. Now I have a huge sweet tooth and never met a cake I didn’t like so was excited to tuck into bad brownie’s box of chocolatey goodness. Warning! Chocoholics will be overcome and want to order.
Who are Bad Brownie?
Bad Brownie was created by founders Paz and Morag who bonded over many hot chocolates and felt there was more to life than spreadsheets. So they decided to break up with excel, exchange it for the keys to the chocolate factory and never looked back. They’ve even been on Dragons Den!
They started off small at markets in London but people quickly went crazy for their brownies. Today they still do the London markets but much of their business is via their very successful online store.
They cater to everyone including those with no allergies or dietary preferences, vegans, coeliacs & those with nut allergies, so no one misses out on their tasty treats.
“We both love chocolate. We’re obsessed by it; we’re basically both just force-feeding each other constantly.”Morag Ekanger – Co Founder
The brownie boxes are nicely packaged and are shipped via courier. The whole ordering process right through to delivery is super easy & quick. One of the key things I notice and like about companies I buy from.
Our brownies are smaller bite sized pieces (around 3.5cm square) as they are so deliciously decadent and rich. So, they may be small but they are mighty and pack a powerful chocolate punch! Also, smaller pieces mean you can try more than one flavour in go as we usually recommend 2 to 3 bites per person. There’s definitely no shame in eating 12 bites in one sitting (we speak from experience!).
Oreo Cookie Dough – Combining a layer of gooey dark chocolate brownie with crunchy cookie dough and Oreos – this is one of our most popular flavours ever!
After Eight – Strictly for civilised occasions – this is a dark chocolate brownie with a gooey minty fondant top finished with a chocolate ganache and gold sprinkles
Biscoff – An ever so slightly spiced chocolate brownie with double Biscoff in the form of Biscoff spread and crumbled Biscoff biscuits on top
Salted Caramel – two layers of our signature dark chocolate vegan brownie, sandwiched with liquid salted caramel with a glittery gold finish.
Chocolate Orange – Dark chocolate brownie with a lovely fruity orange flavour and candied orange – flavour combos don’t get better than this!
Classic Choc Chip – a sure fire winner, our classic dark chocolate brownie base with choc chips, perfect for purists and still Bad Brownie enough to be a naughty treat.
I got the 12 bite box which contains 3 flavours: Oreo Cookie Dough, After 8 & Biscoff. Prices start from £14.50 and boxes are also available in 16 & 24 bites.
I love small versions of foods, I just find them so enjoyable to eat. So I was excited to try brownies that come in small bites rather than giant slabs like you usually see. The little bites look so cute and very visually appealing but were they up to the taste test?
They weren’t overly sweet & sickly, the texture was fantastically fudgy, the chocolate and the other flavours are there, the toppings looked really good and appetizing. Some of the best brownies I’ve ever had, and I’ve had A LOT.
I think the oreo cookie dough was my absolute favourite out of the 3 flavours as I’m a big cookie fan but all three were absolutely delicious. My only criticism is that mint anything should NEVER be in the same containers with other flavours. The flavour is so strong that it carries to the other flavours and I could taste mint in the other brownies as well. If you’ve ever put mint cremes in a tub with other chocolates then you know exactly what I mean.
But the brownies are so delicious and I am obsessed with the little bite form they come in. I’m already really excited to order some more. I’d love a big box of the oreo cookie dough ones, I think I could eat them all in one sitting ha!
